Cultural Cakes - A Nigerian Wedding

This cake, resembling the gourd in the picture to the right, was made for the wedding celebration of a Nigerian couple. The red velvet cake frosted with vanilla buttercream was covered in fondant. The string was made of vanilla buttercream and the beads (or rocks) were also made out of fondant and placed individually unto the gourd. It was a great experience.
Shortly after the wedding I received the following note from the planner:
"Adesuwa and Abimbola enjoyed the cake. The guest were in awe of the cake and the decoration. Thank you for bringing Adesuwa's vision to life."

Best wishes to the bride and groom!

Here comes the Bride!

My little brother is getting married and for his bride-to-be we had an English garden themed shower. The cake of choice was French vanilla with fresh strawberries and cream filling. The square shaped cake decorated with vines and a sage ribbon complimented the theme beautifully. On a hot June day, the stawberries and cream were perfectly refreshing!

Welcoming Ethan Andrew Bluth!

It was an absolute pleasure to make this two tiered vanilla cake filled with chocolate pudding and caramel chips for my best friend Noelia and her husband Jarrett as they prepare to welcome their first child, Ethan, into the world. Can't wait to have the little one with us!

The cake features building block topper spelling out "BOY". The bottom tier is decorated with a clothes line filled with baby clothes. Polka dots adorn the tiers throughout.
